Step-by-Step Instructions for Pan Fried Cinnamon Bananas
- Begin by peeling the two slightly overripe bananas and slicing them into rounds approximately ⅓ inch thick.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if you choose to use it). Stir until well mixed.
- Lightly spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and place it on the stove over medium-low heat. Allow to warm for about 2 minutes.
- Once the skillet is ready, place the banana slices in a single layer in the pan. Let the bananas cook for about 2–3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the bananas while they’re still in the skillet. Allow to cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Gently flip the banana slices over and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over them. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
- Once the bananas are soft, golden, and beautifully caramelized, carefully remove them from the skillet. Serve immediately while warm.
