Step-by-Step Instructions
- Combine warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Stir until dissolved and let it sit for about 10 minutes, until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and sugar until well combined.
- Add milk, egg, soft butter, and the foamy yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture forms a shaggy dough.
- Transfer the shaggy dough onto a floured surface and knead for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and allow it to rise in a warm area for about 90 minutes.
- Roll the dough out to about ¼ inch thick, spread Nutella over the surface, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Tightly roll the dough into a log, slice into 6 equal pieces, and arrange them in a greased baking pan.
- Pour a layer of heavy cream at the bottom of the greased baking pan, cover the rolls, and let them rest for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 374°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls for 15-17 minutes until golden brown with a soft aroma.
- Brush the top of the rolls with melted butter after baking for added richness.
