Hi, I’m Clara Pepper — the whisk, camera, and voice behind CakeRecipesList.com

I grew up in a sun-lit Midwest kitchen where my grandmother measured flour by feel and insisted that every celebration deserved a homemade cake. At twelve I was already bartering slices of chocolate sheet cake for extra recess time; at sixteen I converted my parents’ garage into a weekend bake-sale lab. After earning a degree in food science, I trained in a small Paris pâtisserie, learning the secrets of feather-light génoises and silky Swiss meringue buttercream. But I missed the joy of teaching home bakers that great cakes don’t require fancy tools—just clear guidance and a pinch of confidence.

I launched CakeRecipesList.com to share rigorously tested, step-by-step cake recipes that work in a regular kitchen. Every post is shot in natural light from my tiny studio, and I never hit “publish” until a recipe has risen perfectly three times in a row.
