Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups of fresh strawberries, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Allow to simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes, mashing the strawberries lightly.
- Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or jar, pressing down on the pulp to extract syrup, and discard solids.
- Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a separate pot. Remove from heat and add 4 to 6 tea bags. Steep for about 5 minutes.
- Combine the cooled tea with the strawberry syrup in a large pitcher. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice if desired and stir well.
- Serve in tall glasses filled with ice, garnishing with strawberry slices or lemon wheels.

Notes
Allow the Strawberry Sweet Tea to chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour for enhanced flavors. Use ripe strawberries for optimal taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
