Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Heart Bread
  1. Prepare the yeast mixture by combining warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast in a stand mixer bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix the dough by adding eggs, butter, sugar, both flours, and salt. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
  5. Shape the dough into two 10-inch heart shapes on a floured surface.
  6. Assemble the layers by placing one heart dough on the baking sheet.
  7. Make the cream cheese filling by beating cream cheese, butter, and sugar until smooth, then adding vanilla extract.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the first heart-shaped dough, followed by preserves and strawberries.
