  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup dulce de leche
  • ½ cup chocolate sauce optional
  • ½ cup caramel sauce optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to a rectangle about 12x18 inches.
  2. Soften butter and spread evenly over puff pastry, fold in thirds, roll out again, and repeat the butter application and folding process.
  3. In a bowl, mix together granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg for the cinnamon sugar coating.
  4. Cut pastry into strips, spiral each around muffin pan wells, and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Let cruffins cool for 5 minutes before filling with dulce de leche.
  6. Dust with cinnamon sugar and serve warm, optionally with chocolate or caramel sauce.
