- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, then set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a separate bowl until mostly smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the mashed bananas, folding gently.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
