Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by rinsing 4 cups of fresh or frozen cranberries under cool water to remove any dirt or impurities.
  2. In a large pot, combine the rinsed cranberries with 6 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes until the cranberries burst open.
  4. Mash the cranberries against the sides of the pot to extract all the delicious juices.
  5. Using a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, strain the mixture into a clean pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract juice.
  6. While the juice is still warm, stir in your choice of honey, maple syrup, or sugar.
  7. Optionally, add lemon and orange slices to the pitcher, gently stirring to incorporate.
  8. Allow the juice to cool to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
